We’re one day on the other side of the Winter Solstice, with more light coming every day now.  More than New Year’s eve, this marks the turning point for me: everything which is closing down for the winter months has the promise that spring will come again.  Happy Solstice!

And even in the darkest time of the year, life blossoms: these fungi are growing on a tree branch long since separated from its tree.   Propping the branch against an old fence post when I was out walking my dogs this morning, I thought it was as pretty a seasonal decoration as can be had anywhere.

Wherever you are for the holidays, and whomever you’re with, I wish for you to remember with gratitude and care your own life, steadily blooming.

See you in the New Year.
